I always hear that the president has donated x amount of dollars to a given organization. Some people see this as a good thing, a gesture of good will. That is how far some minds think. The question that we have to ask ourselves is where does the money come from? How does the president get so much money that he has millions left to donate? Is the money from his salary or is the money from his office budget? This is so wrong!
The budget for the office of the president should be for salaries and expenses so one would wonder where the excess money to ‘donate’ comes from? If the president’s salary is so huge that he can support his family and donate some, then that is so f&&ked up!
Unless the president, the minister of finance and the governor of central bank work together to decide what happens with the money without parliamentary approval, there is no way in hell the president can have money to donate!
ANYTIME WE HEAR THE PRESIDENT DONATE MONEY, WE SHOULD CONDEMN IT AS STEALING PUBLIC MONEY, OR WE SHOULD ASK THE PRESIDENT TO TELL US WHERE THE MONEY IS COMING FROM.
According to Ateny Wek, the president has no bank account, so the whole central bank is his! Messed up!
