What If I Were Your President?

What If I were your president
I would ask about your footprints
to see the specimen of your path
such that I would know how you flew
this far.

What if I were your president
I would sit
and
dip my hands
deep into the clay
and craft
natural statesmen
who perished in wilderness

What if I were your president
I would build sanctuaries
in every edge of your nation
for the sicks
would be cleansed

What if I were your president
I would grease
your native paths
with natural cream of our bones
to keep it smooth

What if I were your president
I would sit with you
and chat around fire place
where there would be no flies and fleas
to jump on our newborns

What if I were your president
I would print new leaves
of our voyage’s manifestos
and disseminate to young people
for they are taps of your nation

If I were your president
I would turn your great Nile’s tributaries
into lengthy plantations
and make aquatics as delicious sauce
that you would live with

If I were your president
I would ask ‘who am I?’
when I am looking at a mirror
and see your stress
and I would take off my hat
and crown one of you

Only, If I were your president.
